How Does Acne Influence Our Psychology
Acne has a way to penetrate and drill down into the depths of one’s psychology where medication can not reach. It can hang on strong while it consumes the spirit and mind.
Perhaps one of the reasons it can lead to a more serious problem is the fact that they are not visible to the eye, it is internal wound that has no representation in the physical world, making it more difficult to solve or identify.
While there might be many types of treatment available to aid in clearing the skin, from oral and topical antibiotics to laser treatment. Emotional scaring could be a longer process because there is no specific treatment for the mind.
While a boost of confidence can result from obtaining clear skin, the inner fear that the problem will return lingers in the back of ones mind. For some a case of over confidence could be a symptom of the deep emotional wounds of dealing with acne for extensive periods of time. For others even though they have been freed from acne the shyness and insecurity remains part their behavior.
It is human nature to place blame in things that are out of our control on to things including our selves. Learning to forgive ourselves for the bourden we have laid onto us due to consequences that living with acne might have caused. It all starts with the first step and forgiveness is a big one and critically important.
The second step is acknowledge that things only have the meaning we give it, and looking at it from a bigger perspective of our own compared to the challenges that many other people in the world confront daily. Being mindful that we control our emotions, being grateful for all the wonderful things that are available to us on a daily basis.
Thinking about what being free of acne and acne scars really means to you, will provide insight of what you think might be missing in your life in this moment. Then coming up with ways on how to live those things until that becomes a reality. Being committed to the end result, and seeing what ever current treatment as an experiment to identify what works will keep you focused on what’s important. The end result.
While there is no exact cure for acne, in fact it can’t be cured rather it is prevented being committed to an end result is what counts. When experimenting with a treatment set it in your mind that it is not going to cure it, you are only testing to see how your body responds to it, and if it’s something that you should consider investing more resources into. If not then move on to experimenting with something else. By being committed to an end result rather then each process it will keep you motivated and closer to being acne free.
