Acne is a relatively common skin condition that typically starts around puberty, in fact about 80-85% of people will suffer from some degree of acne during their teenage years and this frequently continues into adulthood. Unfortunately we are not yet aware of the precise causes of acne and there is no single cure which works for everyone. There are however a variety of tried and tested treatments which can help or even completely eradicate the condition.

Sorting out the huge variety of acne medicines you will find at the drug store can be confusing. When you go to the store to find something to help you take control of your acne problem or to help the teenager in your life do the same can result in you standing in an aisle at the store facing hundreds of products with little clue about what to try.

The teenage years can be pure joy or pure torture depending on your particular experiences. For better or worse, we take our first steps into the life of an adult. Of course, most of us fall flat on our face, but that is another story for another time. Preferably with the psychiatrist!
